In Chiba Prefecture, as of July 1, 2022, the "Chiba Prefecture Ordinance for the Promotion of Safe and Proper Bicycle Use" was amended to require bicycle users in the prefecture to have bicycle insurance to cover damages caused by accidents while using a bicycle, including injuries to others. The ordinance requires bicycle users in Chiba Prefecture to purchase bicycle insurance to compensate for damages caused by an accident while using a bicycle.
Noda City has concluded an agreement with ・ companies that deal with bicycle insurance to promote bicycle insurance and safe bicycle use.
