The 15th of every month is "Bicycle Safety Day".

Bicycles are positioned as light vehicles under the Road Traffic Law and are "members of a car. Therefore, bicycles obey traffic signals for vehicles, not for pedestrians. However, if there is a traffic signal for pedestrians and bicycles, the bicycles must obey the traffic signal. If you ride a bicycle through an intersection with a separate traffic signal for pedestrians and vehicles when the pedestrian signal is green, you are considered to be disregarding the signal. When obeying a pedestrian signal, you must get off your bicycle and push it across.

When riding a bicycle, be sure to ride safely by obeying traffic rules and practicing good traffic manners.
